Digital Communication for young designers. UX/UI, website design, and QR/NFC digital tools — thinking like a real digital designer.
Tech Talk is Arc Innovate's digital design and communication program. Over 8 weeks, children aged 7–10 learn to design for screens — understanding UX (how digital products work) and UI (how they look), building simple websites, and experimenting with QR codes and NFC tags as communication tools. This is not a coding class — it's a design thinking class applied to the digital world. Students learn to think about who will use their digital product and why, before they touch any tool. Every student builds a real clickable prototype they can show family and friends.
Understand the difference between how something works and how it looks — and why both matter.
User research basics — interview techniques and how to understand what people actually need.
Sketch low-fidelity layouts of your app or website — planning before building.
Colour, typography, and layout — the building blocks of good digital design.
Build a simple website using beginner-friendly tools. Real output, real pride.
Create QR codes and experiment with NFC tags as digital communication tools.
Build a clickable app prototype — link screens together into a working digital experience.
Present your digital product to parents. Demonstrate it working on a real device.
Children understand how apps and websites are designed — essential knowledge for a generation that will work, communicate, and create digitally.
Learning to design for other people, not just yourself, develops empathy and user research skills that apply far beyond digital products.
Every student builds a working website and clickable prototype — real digital products they can show and share.
Colour, typography, and layout principles taught in a digital context — building aesthetic judgment and design sensibility.
Understanding how digital tools are designed (not just used) builds a different kind of technology confidence — as creators, not just consumers.
Demonstrating a working digital product to a live audience at showcase develops communication and technical confidence simultaneously.
Loves apps, games, or websites and wonders how they're made. Interested in technology, design, or digital media. Enjoys thinking about why some apps are easy to use and others are frustrating.
No coding or design software experience needed. All tools used are beginner-friendly and chosen specifically for this age group. Children just need curiosity about the digital world.
